Promax

Sunshine, blue skies and clean air are unequivocally some of the greatest things in the world. Sydney has them in abundance. Hong Kong less so. Now that I'm back in the latter, I desperately miss the former. Before I left, I gave the opening keynote at the Sydney Promax 2007 event. It was a sold out show with over 400 people in the sleek theatre of the Art Gallery of NSW. Given the audience was mainly TV producers, programmers and marketers I spent quite a bit of time talking about some of the ways that I believe that consumers will use networks to both discover and share entertainment content. Its an amazing time to be involved with entertainment content at the moment. You have this bizarre situation of people watching less TV  because of the web, and yet at the same discovering new shows and content through social networks, which in turn stimulates broadcast viewership. The result is a crazy kind of bricolage. Its a theme I picked up in last week's newsletter article 'Network Narcotics' - in case you missed it.
